Welcome Mat

Hi!  ericwlin.com is my personal website and blog.  All of the views displayed here are mine and mine only.

As most of my friends know, I enjoy reading and learning across many topics.  Feedly and Wikipedia are perhaps my most visited web apps, which says a lot for my copious internet browsing habits.  My Twitter account is my outlet for sharing interesting news items and links, but I thought a better way to organize my thoughts would be a website and blog like this one.

Be prepared to read about topics such as:

  • Sports (Kentucky Wildcats, Stanford Cardinal, NCAA Basketball, NCAA Football, Other NCAA Sports, NBA, NFL, MLB, Soccer, and even Olympic Sports)
  • Law (legal news, analysis, developments)
  • Technology (startups, mainstream companies, life hacks, gadgets)
  • Taiwanese Americans and other ethnic minorities in the U.S. (organizations, demographics, history, sociology)
  • Current events and politics (domestic affairs, international relations)
  • Health, science, and medicine (scientific research, biotechnology, global health, HIV/AIDS, medical advances)
  • Pop culture (movies, TV shows, music, celebrities)
  • Miscellaneous (all-encompassing category for everything else)

A little bit about myself:

  • Kentuckian (can also claim NYC, DC, Northern California as major geographical influences)
  • Taiwanese American (non-profit organizations like ITASA have played defining roles in my life)
  • Kentucky Wildcats and Stanford Cardinal super fan (lots of hometown and school pride in addition with a real interest in following EVERY MAINSTREAM SPORT except NHL/hockey)
  • Intellectual Property Attorney (litigation, prosecution, counseling)
  • Scientific/health background (biological sciences, infectious diseases, health policy)
  • Major interests in technology (startups, online tech, gadgets) and current events/affairs (news)
  • Basketballing (have also enjoyed playing tennis, soccer, and ultimate frisbee)
  • Food lover (trying new restaurants and a variety of cuisines)
